Amutha came to New Zealand from Sri Lanka in March 2004 with her family. At that time, she could not speak nor write in English. After starting a family, she was feeling quite lonely, and found out about WISE through her children’s playgroups. With support from WISE, she got Food Handling training and started selling food at the New Lynn market.
“I like the way WISE helps women and challenges us to learn. The WISE Collective arranges workshops according to our needs and I attend as many as I can. I have been studying English and attending Food Control plan training. I thank the WISE Collective for providing me with opportunities to learn and challenge myself, and improve my life here in New Zealand.”
