Key Facts About Gluten Testing

  • The New Zealand and Australian Food Standards Code states that a gluten free claim cannot be made unless a food contains no detectable gluten and no ingredients derived from oats or malt.
  • The International CODEX definition of gluten free is 'foods containing less than 20ppm of gluten'. This definition is supported by Coeliac New Zealand.

Gluten Free Cereal

Ensuring a breakfast free from wheat gluten can sometimes be a little daunting and we go to great lengths to ensure our products are free from gluten and can be enjoyed by all Coeliac’s.

Our production facility has strict allergen management procedures and systems in place to prevent any cross contamination. During manufacture of gluten free products, the manufacturing plant is dedicated to only making gluten free products to eliminate all possible cross contact risks.

We conduct gluten testing on all product contact surfaces prior to production to validate surfaces are free from gluten and all Vogel’s finished products are tested for gluten, to a detectable level of 5ppm.
